Mr Rahman has expertise in the full range of hip and knee problems and he was one of the first surgeons to develop a pathway and undertake same day discharge hip replacement in London at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital with many very happy patients. His clinical interests include minimally invasive hip replacement, total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, revision (re-do) hip and knee replacement, hip arthroscopy and knee arthroscopy including surgery for injuries to the knee cartilage and meniscus repair and resection, amongst other expertise. Mr Rahman is also a Fellowship trained trauma surgeon and has expertise in the management of fractures / broken bones including other soft tissue injuries and sprains.
Mr Rahman graduated from University College London Medical School and subsequently undertook his postgraduate higher specialist training in the prestigious University College London Hospital (UCLH) training programme and has spent several years in London’s leading hospitals in addition to other multiple major teaching hospitals including the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. He is a highly trained specialist having completed multiple world-renowned fellowships in Canada where he spent a year as a hip and knee reconstruction fellow; UCLH as a fellow in hip preservation surgery and at the Royal London Hospital Major Trauma Centre where he undertook the highly sought after major trauma fellowship.
Mr Rahman has patients referred to him from all over Buckinghamshire via their GP, physiotherapist or from colleagues seeking a second opinion. He has access to state-of-the-art facilities and works with highly skilled anaesthetists, nurses and physiotherapists at the Chiltern Hospital and Bishops Wood Hospital where he is able to provide his patients with access to any scans that are required quickly to avoid any delay to diagnosis and treatment.
Mr Rahman also has an interest in developing patient pathways based on his unique experience. He has a focus on enhanced recovery and strongly believes in patient centred care, ensuring his patients are his top priority in getting them back to their normal function by providing tailor made specialist solutions to his patients. To achieve excellent results, Mr Rahman uses the most up-to-date modern techniques and equipment based on research evidence.
Mr Rahman has a significant interest in the latest research and innovation and has published in multiple peer reviewed journals with active development of Quality Improvement Projects and clinical research. He is a keen educator and has a formal qualification in medical education from the University of Nottingham. He teaches on the Internationally recognised Advanced Trauma and Life Support Course at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and has trained many up and coming surgeons.
Mr Rahman works closely with his team, but most of all with his patients and relatives to ensure the best outcomes for them.
