Ms Lee Teak Tan is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon specialising in oculoplastic surgery. She completed her ophthalmology specialist training in the Oxford Deanery, specialising in oculoplastic surgery, with prestigious fellowships at the Oxford Eye Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London, plus a further fellowship at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, where she was appointed to a consultant post. She currently looks after patients in Mid and South Essex NHS Trust with various lid and lacrimal conditions such as eyelid tumours, ptosis(droopy lids), dermatochalasis(excess eyelid skin), entropion(in-turned eyelids), ectropion(out-turned eyelids), epiphora(watery eyes) and thyroid eye disease. She cares deeply about her patients, and takes the time to explore treatment options, personalised to your individual needs.

Ms Tan was awarded Doctorate of Medicine (MD) by University College London(UCL) for her postgraduate research in the field of Orbital Inflammatory Diseases and Sequelae of Ocular Inflammation. She is passionate about training the next generation of ophthalmologists, channelling her efforts into her current role of Subspecialty Tutor for Ophthalmology at Broomfield Hospital and lecturing on honorary basis at the Anglia Ruskin Medical School.

Outside of ophthalmology, she enjoys nature walks, baking and learning languages, dedicating her free time to her family.
