Mr Joe Marais trained as a junior doctor in Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery in London and Edinburgh. He continued training as a Senior Registrar in Edinburgh before working in Texas, USA doing a Chief Resident’s post. Subsequently, Mr Marais also undertook fellowship training in Toronto at the world-famous Toronto General.
He was appointed as a Consultant Rhinologist, Nasal Plastic & ENT Surgeon at Northwick Park Hospital in 2000. His interests include cosmetic and reconstructive septorhinoplasty, sinus surgery, nasal blockage, snoring and allergy. He lectures on these topics on various national and international courses.
Mr Marais is registered with BAPRAS and carries out in excess of a hundred septorhinoplasties each year, many of which are complex and revision cases referred by other Consultants.
Mr Marais is able to perform surgery on children at The Clementine Churchill Hospital.
