About Mr Jamil Moledina

Personal Profile

Mr Jamil Moledina is an experienced, fully trained Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon with particular expertise in all aspects of Hand & Wrist Surgery. He practises in London, both in the NHS and privately.

Fully educated in the UK, he attained his Medial Degree with Honours from Imperial College School of Medicine, London. He completed his Plastic Surgery training in London, is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and is on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery with an active licence to practice from the General Medical Council.

He has completed highly prestigious fellowships in the world-renowned Pulvertaft Hand Centre and Great Ormond Street Hospital and became an NHS Consultant in 2016, working in St George’s Hospital, a busy London teaching hospital and Major Trauma Centre.

He is the Lead for the Hand Centre in St George’s Hospital and is the go-to Surgeon for complex problems of the Hand & Wrist in the hospital. His practice includes all aspects of Hand & Wrist surgery for both children and adults, covering all elective conditions, and both simple and complex traumatic conditions including bone, joint, tendon, vascular and nerve tissues. He regularly performs complex and innovative reconstructive techniques to optimise his patients’ return to function, striving to get back to the pre-injury state. Owing to his expertise, he receives referrals from across the country to carry out procedures that few in the UK can do. There is almost no surgery or technique within this field that Mr Moledina has no experience of, and you can be confident that he will be able to provide you with the very best of care available.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Mr Moledina keeps active in research, publishes in peer-reviewed specialist medical journals, and regularly attends national and international conferences to ensure he stays up-to-date with the latest developments. He is a keen educator with a postgraduate qualification in Medical Education, who makes time in his busy schedule to teach the next generation of surgeons to ensure they also reach the high standards he sets for himself and that patients should rightly expect. He is a recognised Clinical and Educational Supervisor, having had formal training to provide mentorship, clinical supervision and pastoral care to trainee doctors and surgeons.

Mr Moledina also does regular charity work, giving time each year to provide teaching and surgical expertise in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, attending to the care of children with complex congenital hand & wrist conditions.
