Mr. Elsheikh is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist who has been practising as a UK consultant for more than 11 years. His expertise covers all aspects of women’s health, with particular specialisation in keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery, infertility, and urogynaecology. He is accredited by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and he has multiple European qualifications as well, ensuring that his patients receive care that meets the highest international standards.
Mr. Elsheikh offers comprehensive gynaecological services, from routine consultations to complex surgical procedures. He has extensive experience in managing a broad spectrum of women’s health conditions, including period problems, endometriosis, pelvic pain, fertility challenges, fibroids, and menopause-related concerns.
He has a lot of experience in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, as well as IVF and fertility management. His surgical expertise includes endometriosis excision surgery, laparoscopic and open hysterectomy, myomectomy (fibroid removal), ovarian and tubal surgery, hysteroscopic surgery, and vaginal prolapse repair.
As part of the Stockport Endometriosis Centre Team, he provides advanced, multidisciplinary care for women suffering from severe endometriosis. He has performed hundreds of laparoscopic endometriosis surgeries and over 1,000 hysteroscopic procedures, achieving excellent outcomes both within the NHS and private practice.
Mr. Elsheikh is dedicated to continuously monitoring and auditing his results to maintain a world-class standard of patient care.
Originally from Egypt, Mr. Elsheikh graduated from Cairo University in 2002 and trained at El Galaa Teaching Hospital, one of the country’s leading maternity and gynaecology centres.
He moved to the UK in 2009, obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2010, and joined the UK Specialist Register in 2014 after demonstrating exceptional skill and competence. In recognition of his contributions to women’s health, he was awarded the prestigious Fellowship (FRCOG) in 2023.
Mr. Elsheikh is currently the Fertility Lead at his NHS Trust and also provides private IVF treatments. Deeply committed to education, he plays an active role in training the next generation of doctors and contributes to the RCOG as an examiner and former advisor to the Portfolio Committee. He will soon be starting robotic-assisted gynaecological surgery at his NHS practice and aims to expand this cutting-edge service privately.
In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, he is a founding member of the British Egyptian Medical Association (BEMA) and part of the Egyptian Liaison Group, supporting overseas doctors in their UK training journeys.
