Helen is an experienced Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist who qualified from the University of Birmingham in 1999. She has specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy since 2002 and has built extensive clinical experience in assessing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Over the course of her career, Helen has worked across both NHS and private healthcare settings, including roles within two large NHS Trusts in the Midlands. Since 2014, she has been working with BMI Healthcare and Circle Health Group, providing specialist physiotherapy care for patients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
Helen has developed a particular clinical interest in upper limb conditions, including disorders affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Over the past 15 years, she has focused on helping patients recover from injuries and regain function in the upper limb, which plays a vital role in daily activities and independence.
During her time in the NHS, Helen worked closely alongside upper limb orthopaedic consultants in specialist clinics. This collaborative approach allowed her to support patients through the full care pathway, from initial assessment through to rehabilitation, ensuring seamless and coordinated treatment.
Although she has a strong specialist interest in upper limb conditions, Helen is fully qualified to assess and treat all musculoskeletal injuries, including those affecting the spine, lower limb, and general soft tissue conditions.
Helen is passionate about helping patients achieve their personal recovery goals. She enjoys working with individuals who present with a wide range of injuries, activity levels, and treatment goals.
She believes that effective physiotherapy is built on communication, education, and collaboration. By working closely with patients, she helps them understand their condition, take an active role in their rehabilitation, and progress confidently through their recovery programme.
Helen has shared that she finds great satisfaction in supporting patients on their journey back to improved movement, reduced pain, and better quality of life.
Outside of work, Helen enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She maintains an active lifestyle through gym-based fitness activities and enjoys staying physically active.
She is also learning to mountain bike—somewhat reluctantly—so she can keep up with her family on outdoor trails.
