Mr Jayasinghe is an experienced Orthopaedic Consultant with a strong academic and clinical background, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in hip and knee surgery at Chaucer Hospital.
Raised in Kent, he began his medical journey at St George’s Medical School, where he earned his medical degree. His commitment to advancing musculoskeletal health led him to pursue a Master’s degree in Musculoskeletal Sciences at University College London (UCL), graduating with credit and distinction respectively.
With over a decade of experience in Orthopaedics since 2011, Mr Jayasinghe completed his specialist training on the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex rotation, gaining comprehensive exposure to complex orthopaedic cases. During his training, he was recognised for academic excellence through multiple prizes and bursaries. His scholarly contributions include publishing research papers and presenting at prestigious international orthopaedic conferences, reflecting his dedication to evidence-based practice and innovation in surgical techniques.
Following completion of his training, Mr Jayasinghe undertook a highly regarded fellowship at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC)—one of Europe’s leading centres for joint replacement surgery. Under the mentorship of eminent professors and surgeons, he refined his expertise in advanced procedures, including direct anterior approach hip replacements, computer-navigated knee replacements, and complex revision hip surgeries. This fellowship experience cemented his reputation for precision and technical skill in joint reconstruction.
Currently, Mr Jayasinghe serves within the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, providing both outpatient and inpatient care across its three main hospital sites. His NHS practice encompasses a wide range of hip and knee replacement surgeries, from routine primary procedures to complex revision cases. He is committed to improving patient mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life through tailored surgical solutions.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Jayasinghe actively contributes to teaching and training within the NHS. He mentors junior doctors and surgical trainees, sharing his expertise in modern orthopaedic techniques and fostering the next generation of surgeons. His approach combines technical excellence with compassionate care, ensuring patients feel supported throughout their treatment journey.
Outside of his professional commitments, Mr Jayasinghe values family time and enjoys travelling with his loved ones. A keen advocate for health and fitness, he maintains an active lifestyle and volunteers as a children’s football team manager, promoting teamwork and wellbeing in the community.
Mr Jayasinghe’s philosophy centres on meticulous attention to detail and a patient-first approach. He takes pride in delivering personalised care and derives immense satisfaction from restoring function and independence to his patients.
