About Frances Oakes

Personal Profile

Fran graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2018 with a degree in Sports Therapy and then went on to complete her Masters Degree in Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University in January 2021.

She has experience working in both the private sector and the NHS and now currently specialises in neurological rehabilitation at a brain injury unit where she provides specialist care and for patients with both traumatic and acquired brain injury. This role involves both rehabilitative care and respiratory care to promote a desirable outcome.

Throughout her career, Fran has worked in both professional and semi professional rugby and football. She has also worked with bodybuilders, power lifters, strongmen and HYROX athletes helping them to maintain their fitness. She works with individuals on pre competition programmes to optimise their performance as well as treatment post competition to enhance recovery with a variety of treatment methods including soft tissue therapy.

Fran joined the Three Shires team in 2022 working as bank physiotherapist on the wards and has gained valuable experience working with post operative patients to enable optimal recovery and return to activity.
