Mr Shah is a Consultant specialist Knee surgeon based at The University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust. In 2003, he qualified from Liverpool Medical School with honours, then he went onto completing his training in the Merseyside area. After completing his surgical training, he secured prestigious fellowships in the UK and in Sydney, Australia. These fellowships particularly focused on sports knee injuries, young adult knee problems and knee arthroplasty surgery.
Mr Shah provides clinical expertise in ACL and PCL ligament repairs and reconstructions, where patients have had a failed prior reconstruction. He also has the expertise to re-do a ligament reconstruction. Mr Shah reconstructs multi-ligament ruptures where there has been a knee dislocation due to trauma. In addition, he undertakes meniscal preservation surgery where it is possible and also reconstructs meniscal injuries.
Moreover, Mr Shah provides a knee preservation service where he either performs an osteotomy to halt the progression of arthritis or transplant articular cartilage from donors or non-weight bearing parts of the patients own knee thus preventing the need for knee arthroplasty surgery. He also provides a comprehensive arthroplasty service including patellofemoral resurfacing, partial knee resurfacings and total knee resurfacing procedures.
