About Duncan Parry

Personal Profile

Mr Parry qualified in Sheffield in 1993 (MBChB) and subsequently undertook specialist training (FRCS) and a research doctorate (MD) on vascular units within the Yorkshire Region. During that time he had additional training in health research (PG Cert) and medical ultrasound (PG Cert).

Following appointment as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust in August 2009, he accrued significant clinical and operative vascular experience. His surgical expertise includes carotid endarterectomy, AAA surgery (open and EVAR), peripheral arterial bypass surgery and revision, varicose vein and endovenous surgery and diabetic foot surgery.

Over the past twenty years Mr Parry has maintained significant research interests include cardiovascular risk in peripheral arterial disease and familial vascular risk for which he was awarded the Moynihan Prize. He has published more than thirty research articles in peer reviewed journals. Recent publications including the use of the Omniflow II™ bioprosthetic graft for vascular infections and the United Kingdom’s only experience evaluating patient co-operative general anaesthesia during carotid endarterectomy.
