Mr. Tighe is dedicated to enhancing quality of care, focusing on key outcomes within his specialty. He co-led the UK's largest project for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Quality Outcomes in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (QOMS) report, and co-authored the inaugural report released in 2022.
He has also contributed to numerous peer-reviewed papers, outlining the development of risk-adjustment processes now integrated into the QOMS audit. In 2020, this significant body of work was recognized as an MD of published research.
In 2015, Mr. Tighe obtained his fellowships in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (FRCS-OMFS, RCSEng) and the Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (FFD, RCSI).
Currently serving as a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon based at Chaucer Hospital in Canterbury, Kent, Mr. Tighe led the Head & Neck and Reconstructive Maxillofacial Service in East Kent from 2017 to 2022. He is now refocusing his clinical and technical expertise to offer private care, allowing him to meet patients' needs in a more flexible and responsive manner.
Outside of his clinical responsibilities, Mr. Tighe enjoys exploring distant destinations, cooking, and reading widely. He is a proud father of three children, keeping him active as a family taxi driver, basketball partner, and sous-chef to his aspiring star baker. An active individual, Mr. Tighe also maintains his fitness and participated in the Whitstable Oysterman Triathlon for the first time in 2022.
