Mr David Izadi is a multi-award-winning consultant plastic surgeon based in the Midlands and an elected council member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (BAAPS), the organisation responsible for patient safety and standards in UK plastic surgery. He is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council for Plastic Surgery and offers safe, tailor-made and patient-focused treatment, supporting patients throughout their journey from decision to recovery while striving for excellent results.
Mr Izadi specialises in the full remit of aesthetic surgery and is a recognised expert in both functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty. He is fellowship-trained in aesthetic surgery and rhinoplasty and is a full member of BAAPS and the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). He is also the co-Director and organiser of the UK’s most prestigious facial aesthetic education programme, Face, Eyes, Nose.
Alongside his aesthetic practice, Mr Izadi subspecialises in hand and peripheral nerve surgery. He completed a hand surgery fellowship at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre, a spasticity surgery fellowship at Institut de la Main in Paris, and a global hand surgery fellowship in Sierra Leone. He is a Fellow of both the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and the European Board of Hand Surgery. He has undertaken multiple overseas charity, training and education programmes with BSSH and the British Foundation for International Reconstructive Surgery and Training (BFIRST) in Nepal and Sierra Leone.
At University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), Mr Izadi is an active member of the skin cancer MDT, the hand surgery MDT, the microsurgery extremity reconstruction team, and he leads on pelvic floor reconstruction. His clinical expertise extends to minimally invasive hand surgery; including needle fasciotomies and small-scar carpal tunnel surgery; and he is among a small number of UK surgeons who routinely perform nerve and tendon transfer surgery to restore or improve upper limb function.
Mr Izadi is also the Education Lead for Plastic Surgery at UHCW, a tutor in anatomy at Warwick Medical School, and a member of the national committee responsible for appointing new plastic surgery trainees each year. Passionate about developing the next generation of surgeons, he was awarded the Best Plastic Surgery Trainer in the UK in 2022.
Committed to research and academic development, Mr Izadi is widely published across the fields of plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery, having authored more than 40 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and presented at over 75 national and international scientific meetings. He continues to play an active role in ongoing research.
