About David Hahn

Personal Profile

Mr Hahn qualified fron Birmingham University Medical School in 1984 and did his surgical training in Birmingham before becoming a registrar and senior registrar in Orthopaedics in Nottingham. 

He spent a year as a Fellow in North Carolina, USA before being appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Queens Medical Centre In Nottingham in 1996. He is an internationally recognised expert in Orthopaedic Trauma and regularly teaches and lectures throughout ther UK and abroad. He has numerous publications and has written book chapters on fracture care.

Over the past twenty years as a consultant, Mr Hahn has developed a huge expertise in knee injuries and knee conditions. He has established a very busy Acute Knee Clinic at the QMC and is very experienced in all aspects of knee surgery. He is affiliated to the two professional football teams in Nottingham as well as Nottingham Rugby and Notts CCC. He regularly teaches on knee surgery at The Royal College of surgeons and throughout the UK.

Apart from his sporting interests, he also has a large practice in knee arthritis undertaking partial and total knee replacement. He is a very experienced knee arthroscopy surgeon, and knee ligament reconstruction surgery performing in excess of 150 ACL reconstructions a year. Apart from his busy NHS practice he has two clinics a week at The Park Hospital as well as a weekly operating list.

Mr Hahn is an experienced specialist knee surgeon treating all aspects of knee injuries and knee conditions. He is associated with all the professional sports teams in Nottingham and has close links with Nottingham, Trent, and Loughborough University Sports Teams. He also treats osteoarthritis in the knee and hip in all age groups. He believes in the prompt assessment and management of acute knee injuries and works closely with physiotherapists throughout the region. He also is a very experienced Trauma Surgeon, working at the Queens Medical Centre with an interest in Pelvic and Acetabular fractures and complex lower limb injuries, He is experienced in all aspects of knee surgery including soft tissue knee ligament reconstruction, arthroscopic knee surgery, partial and Total Knee replacement and Total Hip replacement
