He graduated from St Bartholomew's in 1999 and subsequently performed the St Bartholomew's and the Royal London Basic Surgical Training programme. Higher Surgical Training was performed at University College London Hospital with fellowship training at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Kings College Hospital London and The Avon Orthopaedic Hospital Bristol.
He focuses specifically on Hip and Knee specialist techniques and trauma. He is a reviewer for Hip International and has presented and published widely on patient safety and lower limb surgery.
Professor Mann has completed extensive research involving patient safety, technology in arthroplasty, musculoskeletal pathology and trauma. Several of these research papers have been in conjunction with the National Patient Safety Agency and the London Implant Research Centre. He has a variety of ongoing research interests and his work is regularly presented at international meetings. He is also heavily involved with teaching, training and mentoring.
He continuously works under the over-arching principles of medical ethics and clinical governance to deliver and develop a high quality and efficient Lower Limb Reconstruction and Trauma service at Bucks. He is the clinical lead for the Enhanced Recovery Programme which focuses on patient experience, education , recovery and outcomes.
