About Dr Bhavesh Sachdev

Personal Profile

Dr Bhavesh Sachdev is a Consultant Cardiologist who, over two decades of experience, has built a reputation for excellence in both General and Interventional Cardiology — treating a wide range of heart conditions as well as carrying out specialist procedures for patients with coronary artery disease. He treats patients with palpitations, chest pain, breathlessness, dizzy spells and blackouts. He routinely performs coronary stenting in addition to implantation of pacemakers, LINQ devices and electrical cardioversion for atrial fibrillation.

TRAINING and FELLOWSHIPS

Trained at St Mary's Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital (Imperial Healthcare, London), Dr Sachdev was appointed Senior Interventional Fellow — a highly competitive position reflecting his technical skill and clinical acumen.

Dr Sachdev was awarded the very prestigious Interventional Fellowship at the Clinique Pasteur in Toulouse, France — one of the world's leading, internationally acclaimed centres for complex heart procedures. He trained under the expert tutelage of Dr Jean Fajadet, a world-renowned authority in the field, and performed over 1,000 procedures during his time there.

CLINICAL LEADERSHIP

Dr Sachdev has led the management of atrial fibrillation (AF) at Royal Berkshire Hospital and has written clinical guidelines used by GPs across Reading and West Berkshire. In addition to coronary artery disease, his other special interest includes high blood pressure management, having performed the first catheter-based renal denervation at Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Trust. Dr Sachdev has a keen interest in disease prevention, giving careful consideration to assessing cardiovascular risk, heart age and heart disease prevention strategies.

PRIVATE PRACTICE

In private practice, Dr Sachdev offers a genuinely personalised service, taking time to listen, explain, and tailor each assessment and treatment plan to the individual. He sees patients from across Reading and the wider Thames Valley, and believes that early detection of a heart problem — or the reassurance that everything is normal — is always time well spent.

WHY DR SACHDEV

Imperial-Trained Expertise. Trained at St Mary's & Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust, then selected for an international fellowship at the Clinique Pasteur, Toulouse — one of the world's leading centres for complex heart procedures.

ADVANCED TECHNIQUES

Dr Sachdev is skilled in simple and complex angioplasty and stenting through both the radial and femoral routes. He routinely utilises intravascular imaging (IVUS/OCT) and physiology (FFR/iFR) to direct the most appropriate management. He has expertise in the use of Rotablation and Intravascular Lithotripsy (Shock-Wave) for difficult-to-open, calcific arteries. Being accredited in CT Coronary Angiography, Dr Sachdev uses this advanced imaging modality to carefully plan and perform procedures and uses this to assess and plan the interventional procedure so that the best outcome from the treatment is achieved.

PERSONALISED CARE

Unhurried consultations, clear explanations, and a genuinely patient-centred approach — so you fully understand your condition and feel confident in your treatment plan.
