Mr Aslam Chougle

Mr Chougle completed his basic surgical training in Bombay, India and moved to the United Kingdom for his higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics.

Mr Chougle was appointed as a registrar on the West of Scotland Orthopaedic training programme in 1993. He subsequently completed his training as a specialist register through the North-West Deanery in 2005. Mr Chougles’ training included Trauma Fellowship at the Glasgow Royal infirmary in 1994 and a Lower Limb arthroplasty fellowship at Wrightington Hospital in 2002-2003. After obtaining his CCST he was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in 2005 at Oldham/ North Manchester General Hospital with a specialist interest in complex hip and knee replacements in young patients and revision arthroplasty.

Mr Chougle has numerous publications and presentations both at national and international level and have been actively involved in teaching both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

 

 

Mr Chougle's main interest is lower limb arthroplasty including both total hip and knee replacements. This has involved complex hip and knee replacements especially in young patients and has included revision arthroplasty (in my NHS practice) . He also carries out arthroscopic knee surgery which does not involve reconstructions.
