He sees patients with heart rhythm symptoms including palpitations, syncope, dizziness alongside conditions such as SVT, Atrial Flutter, Atrial Fibrillation and Ventricular Ectopy. Dr Arujuna is also an experienced general cardiologist seeing patients with heart valve conditions, chest pain, hypertension and heart failure. His areas of interest include an integrated approach in managing heart rhythm conditions, the management of Atrial Fibrillation, the role of Imaging in Electrophysiology and advanced pacing.
Following completion at Bristol Medical School, Dr Arujuna's EP and Cardiology training began at Guy’s & St Thomas’ during his clinical research period and continued in the West Midlands with more procedural exposure and further enhanced during his observerships in Leipzig and Lisbon. To further explore his interest within the autonomic nervous system and arrhythmias, he visited the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Working with the autonomic nervous system and regulating once lifestyle through diet, exercise and mindful body postures is an interest he enjoys discussing.
Dr Arujuna is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences, and maintains a keen interest in teaching and research through supervision of PhD candidates at King's College, as well as supervising Electrophysiology Fellows at his current centre.
Dr Arujuna advocates a personalised patient tailored approach alongside the use of up-to-date technology that is continuously evolving in the field of heart rhythm management in improving accuracy, safety and outcomes alongside allowing for a better patient experience. Each individual experiences arrhythmias differently. Unpicking the different features, understanding fears and concerns through an emphatic manner guides clinical decision making.
