Miss Anita Hazari has been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, East Grinstead since 2006. She provides an NHS plastic surgery service to Kent and holds clinics in Canterbury. Privately, she operates at the Chaucer Hospital and performs a range of procedures specialising in cosmetic breast surgery, male breast reduction (gynaecomastia), body contouring (abdominoplasty and liposuction) including weight loss surgery (brachioplasty and thigh lifts), labial reduction, and upper eyelid reduction.
Anita was the Plastics Breast Lead for the Kent Cancer network 2009-2012 and helped to formulate the breast reconstruction pathway and the policy for screening mammograms prior to breast reduction surgery. She was on BAPRAS council and the UK Audit Lead for the UK National Flap Registry (2015-2019). Anita has been an examiner for 13 years and was Chair of the faculty of examiners in Plastic Surgery (2020-23). Currently, she is Chair (IQA) at the Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examinations for 10 surgical specialities.
Anita takes pride in her caring attitude and her communication skills with patients. She is keen to ensure that patients are fully informed and involved in all aspects of their care. As a female plastic surgeon, she encourages women to choose the ‘natural’ look, instilling confidence in their appearance, and to be comfortable in their own skin. She is very privileged to have earned the trust of several nurses, doctors and professional women as her patients, and they have been delighted with the outcome of surgery.
Anita was appointed a Hunterian Professor by The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999 for her research work in nerve regeneration.
