Mr Gambhir also specialises in robotic-assisted surgery (MAKO and Velys trained) and bespoke implants (Conformis and Symbios) for both hip and knee replacements, using cutting-edge technology to enhance surgical precision and improve outcomes for patients.
His NHS practice is based at Wrightington Hospital, a nationally renowned centre of excellence for orthopaedic surgery. He completed his medical training at Manchester Medical school, followed by specialist orthopaedic training in the North West of England. He has been awarded EFORT, BOA and BHS travelling fellowships. He has also undertaken advanced fellowship training in hip and knee arthroplasty, further refining his surgical expertise.
Mr Gambhir is a respected figure within the orthopaedic community and has previously served as President of the British Hip Society, reflecting his leadership, dedication to advancing hip surgery, and contribution to shaping national best practice in joint replacement. He has held several key leadership and management positions. He has previously served as Clinical Director for Lower Limb Surgery and as Divisional Medical Director for Specialist Services, where he played a pivotal role in service development, quality improvement, and the strategic planning of orthopaedic and specialist services at Wrightington.
Throughout his career, Mr Gambhir has been committed to delivering high standards of patient care, combining clinical excellence with a compassionate, patient-centred approach. He believes in clear communication, shared decision-making, and ensuring that every patient is fully informed about their treatment options.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Gambhir is actively involved in research and teaching, contributing regularly to professional development programmes for junior doctors and surgical trainees. He has presented at national and international conferences and maintains a strong interest in innovations within joint replacement surgery.
Outside of medicine, Mr Gambhir enjoys spending time with his family and has a keen interest in travel and watching sports.
