Personal Profile

Mr Ansari is a highly experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon. He specialises in hip and knee surgery and can see patients at Goring Hall Hospital for evaluation of their hip and knee symptoms. He performs arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, ligament and tendon reconstruction surgery as well as hip / knee replacement surgery. Mr Ansari sees patient from Worthing, Pulborough, Horsham and the wider Sussex area. 

Mr Ansari graduated from Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals Medical School, London, in 2000 with several prizes and distinctions. He undertook basic surgical training at University College Hospital London, where he gained experience in Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery. He went on to specialist training in Trauma & Orthopaedics on the South West Thames (St. George’s Hospital, London) training programme. 

Mr Ansari is dual fellowship trained in both hip and knee surgery. His initial Knee Fellowship was at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol where he gained valuable experience in managing complex knee conditions. Following this he also specialised in Hip Surgery by undertaking the Furlong Fellowship and in Bone Tumor Surgery by undertaking the Arthroplasty & Oncology Fellowship at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. He has also undertaken an AO Trauma Fellowship in Singapore. Mr Ansari has also gained valuable international experience by undertaking clerkship and elective visit at Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore) and Barnes Jewish Hospital (St Louis). More recently he has also visited Hospital Special Surgery (New York), International Knee & Joint Centre (Abu Dhabi) and University Medical Centre (Utrecht). 

Mr Ansari has been involved in research and successfully published several papers in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal Bone and Joint Surgery, The Knee and International Orthopaedics. Research has been presented at national as well as international meetings. 

Mr Ansari’s NHS base is at Worthing Hospital, University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust where he became a Consultant in 2012. In addition to his elective practice managing patients with hip and knee disorders, at Worthing Hospital he is also a Clinical & Educational Supervisor being involved in training surgeons, the Lead for recruitment of Trust Orthopaedic doctors, the Audit lead for Orthopaedics and Neck of Femur Fracture lead. Nationally, Mr Ansari is a member of the faculty on courses such as the Royal College Surgeons recognised Advanced Trauma Life Support Course.
