He gained a variety of skills in a rotational role but always held a passion for sports injuries and orthopaedic rehabilitation, having previously completed a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science in 2003. Following this he went on to work with Adidas doing Gait Analysis before studying for a BSc in Physiotherapy.
He has worked as a Consultant Physiotherapist with Arsenal Football Club, local rugby clubs and has treated a number of other elite athletes across a variety of sports. Andy has also undertaken teaching programs abroad and helped educate physiotherapists in other countries, helping to set up and promote MSK services. Andy joined BMI Hendon Hospital in 2011 and also worked at Syon Clinic during this time. Having built up a significant caseload during 2019-2021 the decision was taken to expand Syon Clinic Physiotherapy services to a full time role, which Andy has now taken on.
Andy treats all musculoskeletal conditions with a specialty in sports injuries and orthopaedic rehabilitation as well gait analysis and biomechanics, post surgical rehabilitation, outpatient respiratory conditions, long COVID rehabilitation, specialist brace fitting and also has an interest in TMJ dysfunction, chronic pain management, is a qualified acupuncturist and is associated with British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) for treating performing artists and musicians for work related conditions.
During consultations with Andy, expect a friendly patient centred approach to assessing your condition, expectations and your goals for treatment. Assessments start with a discussion on what the problems are, when they started and how they have developed since. Following this we will find out what makes things worse or better, if there are any limitations within daily life that need to be addressed and screen your past medical history for anything that may affect your recovery. After this we will perform a thorough physical assessment specific to your condition depending on what has previously been discussed, formulate a treatment plan around your goals and set up any exercise programs you may require. These tried and tested assessment and treatment techniques that Andy uses are well liked by his patients.
