Dr Morris is a compassionate and approachable GP who believes in providing patient-centred care that values both physical and emotional wellbeing. With a focus on continuity, clear communication, and empowering patients to make informed choices, he strives to ensure every consultation leaves patients feeling heard, supported, and confident about their care.

Since joining Abington Park Surgery, Northampton in 2017 as a GP Partner, he has played a key role in leading and mentoring the practice team within a thriving urban setting serving over 12,800 patients. He serves as lead GP for the nursing team and prescribing. He provides guidance and mentorship to nurses, paramedics, and pharmacists undertaking the V300 prescribing qualification. He also holds leadership roles in palliative care, dementia, care homes, adult safeguarding, and medical student supervision.

In addition to partnership responsibilities, Dr Morris continues to support local and regional services as a sessional and locum GP. Working with out-of-hours providers in Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire, he has extensive experience in unscheduled urgent care ensuring accessible and safe patient care during evenings and weekends. His locum work has included both urban and rural practices across Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and Suffolk, contributing to an understanding of diverse patient populations and healthcare settings.

Dr Morris completed the GP training in Northamptonshire following his Foundation Programme in North Wales. He began his medical journey at the University of Wales (Swansea and Cardiff Medical Schools), where he earned an MBBCh in Medicine and Surgery after completing a Graduate Entry Medicine program. Prior to medicine, he pursued a career in insurance, working in the Lloyd’s insurance market. 

Dr Morris also holds degrees in modern languages from the University of Sheffield. His academic background in the humanities has provided them with a unique perspective on the importance of cultural understanding and communication in healthcare.

With a strong commitment to both professional development and personal wellbeing, he strives to bring balance and empathy to every aspect of his practice. Whether leading a medical team, mentoring students, or caring for patients, Dr Morris is dedicated to supporting colleagues in their professional development and maintaining a practice culture built on compassion, respect, and lifelong learning.
