About Prof Andrew Hart

Personal Profile

Professor Hart is a Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon at the renowned Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow, and in the Scottish Brachial Plexus Service. He is Deputy Editor of JPRAS, Europe’s leading reconstructive & aesthetic surgical journal, and he was previously an invited member on the Council of BAPRAS. He underwent British Society for Surgery of the Hand accredited interface training as Hand Fellow in the Leeds Unit 2006-2007.

A University of Glasgow Graduate, Prof Hart trained in leading centres including Canniesburn, Manchester, Umeå and Leeds and received a MD with Honours for peripheral nerve & tissue engineering research in the Blond-McIndoe Laboratories (Royal Free Hospital, London). This research was advanced during a PhD from Umeå University, Sweden, and he holds an Honorary Senior Research Associate in Umeå University, and Professorial Chair in the University of Glasgow, supervising several doctoral research projects.

Having published medical & medicolegal book chapters and numerous peer-review articles in scientific and medical journals, he has ongoing output of peer-reviewed publications, and national & international presentations.
