Mr Andrew Keightley is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery. His practice encompasses arthroscopic and mini-invasive surgery through to 3D planning of arthroplasty. 

Training and Appointment


After qualifiying from Imperial College Medical school in 2006, Mr Keightley spent his junior doctor training in London and the South-East. He gained higher surgical education in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex deanery before becoming the Upper Limb Fellow at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, encompassing a practice in arthroscopy, arthroplasty and upper limb trauma.

He then completed a prestigious fellowship at the international acclaimed Wrightington Upper Limb Unit, where he gained extensive experience in a high volume tertiary centre renowned for complex primary and revision shoulder and elbow arthroplasty, as well as complex soft tissue reconstruction cases.

Current Practice


Andrew now helps run the Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship programme at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, responsible for training fully qualified orthopaedic surgeons to become shoulder and elbow surgeons.

Research and Publications


Andrew has published a number of peer-reviewed scientific papers in Trauma and Upper limb surgery. He has written book chapters and has presented his work both nationally and internationally.

Mr Keightley is a member of One Orthopaedics, which is a group of orthopaedic consultants who have come together at Mount Alvernia Hospital, with the aim of being a one-stop destination for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of conditions or injuries to the musculoskeletal system.
