After completing his specialty training in general and colorectal surgery in 2004, he spent a further six months at St. Marks’ Hospital, The Hospital for Intestinal and Colorectal Disorders, London as a resident surgical officer. Here he gained further experience in treating and operating on complex colorectal conditions. He also undertook an exchange fellowship to Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto. On his return from Canada, he spent a further year at the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit, Guildford as a laparoscopic fellow.
Mr Huang has been a consultant surgeon at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust since 2006 with a particular interest in colorectal surgery. He sees many patients with bowel conditions including cancer, diverticular disease, Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, haemorrhoids (piles) and offers different treatments for this condition, including THD and HALO.

Since the start of the 5-year rolling national audit in 2012, Mr Andrew Huang has always been one of the top three highest volume colorectal cancer surgeons in the England. In the latest 2 audits published in 2018 and 2019, Mr Huang was the highest volume surgeon in the England, with a low mortality (death) rate of 0.8% at 90 days, far less than the national average of 2%.
