About Mr Alex Chipperfield

Personal Profile

Mr Alex Chipperfield is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 25 years of medical experience, specialising in hip and knee surgery. He is known for his patient-focused approach, surgical precision, and commitment to innovation in joint replacement.

Mr Chipperfield graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School, London in 1997. He began his surgical training in the South of England and the Gold Coast, Australia, before completing his Basic Surgical Training on the South Coast. During this time, he gained valuable experience in orthopaedics as well as plastic and reconstructive surgery.

He went on to train as an orthopaedic registrar on the South East Thames rotation, working across London, Kent, and Sussex. After successfully passing the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examinations and obtaining his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), he undertook a prestigious fellowship in hip and knee surgery in Sydney, Australia.

In 2010, Mr Chipperfield returned to the UK to take up a Consultant post in East Kent, where he worked for 13 years, providing expert care in hip and knee surgery. Since 2022, he has worked exclusively in the independent sector, focusing on delivering an exceptional standard of care in both primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty.

A high-volume arthroplasty surgeon, Mr Chipperfield is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through enhanced recovery protocols, biological interventions, and the use of advanced technologies, including robotic-assisted surgery. His practice is built on a foundation of evidence-based care, surgical innovation, and a deep commitment to restoring mobility and quality of life for his patients.

Mr Chipperfield lives in Kent with his wife, two daughters, and their dog. Outside of his clinical work, he enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle, including cycling, swimming, and running marathons.
