Mr Howieson was appointed a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in 2014 and he is interested in lower limb surgery and trauma. He specialises in hip and knee surgery, including total and partial knee replacement and joint preservation techniques. He also performs sports knee surgery, including ACL reconstruction and meniscal repairs.
Mr Howieson is the Clinical Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, whilst he is also the Vice Chair of the Scottish Arthroplasty Project.
