Mr Ajeet Kumar is a hugely experienced and highly respected specialist senior Consultant Orthopaedic & Knee Surgeon.

Education & Training

Mr Kumar's Orthopaedic journey started in the south of Ireland where he worked as a Senior House Officer and Junior Registrar in different prestigious hospitals like Cork regional and in Dublin.

Following finishing his Junior Registrar training, Mr Kumar trained and was initially appointed as an Orthopaedic Specialist Registrar at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. This role was later converted into a Specialist Registrar to finish his Orthopaedic training He specialised in all aspects of knee surgery by doing a Fellowship (FRCS) in Orthopaedics in the UK.

Mr Ajeet Kumar's journey did not finish there. He went to Sheffield hospital, where he took up fellowship training in knee surgery where he learnt higher surgical training in complex knee operations on the anterior cruciate ligament, arthritic knee and other ligament injuries.

After finishing his Orthopaedic training and fellowship in knee surgery, he relocated to London in 2001. He has also led registrar training at Woolwich/ Greenwich NHS Trust.

Experience

Since 2001 Mr Kumar has been working as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Knee Surgeon at the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. Mr Kumar is on BUPA's open referral network.

Since his appointment as a consultant, he continues his special interest in knee related injuries, particularly in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery, total knee replacements, unicompartmental knee replacement, meniscal repair and other knee related conditions. He also provides a full range of consultations for all Orthopaedic related conditions.
