He trained in Plastic Surgery in Sheffield, Cambridge, Norwich, London and Auckland, New Zealand, before returning as a Consultant to Sheffield in 2006, which is where he originally began his plastic surgery career.
As well as diagnosis and initial treatment of skin cancer lesions, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma, Mr Stephenson performs wider excision for skin cancer, with skin graft or local flap reconstruction where necessary, with sentinel lymph node biopsy for malignant melanoma skin cancer and lymph node dissection for skin cancer. He has a specific interest in the follow-up of patients with skin cancer.
Mr Stephenson is the Lead Clinician for the regional Specialist Skin (Cancer) Multi-Disciplinary Team (SSMDT) which gives advice to teams managing patients with skin cancer throughout the Sheffield/Barnsley/Chesterfield/Doncaster/Rotherham region.
