Mr Raafat can see and consult on children of 16 and above. Whilst most children can be managed without surgery, when it is required, he undertakes this at The Princess Margaret Hospital for children aged 16 and above. Mr Raafat can also provide paediatric gynaecology as a specialised treatment at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
Mr Raafat began his training in Obstretics and Gynaecology in 1997 at a renown teaching hospital in Cairo, Egypt. He continued his career in the United Kingdom in various London Hospitals and in 2003 undertook specialist training within the London Deanery. During the final three years of his training he completed advanced training in minimal access surgery.
In 2012 Mr Raafat introduced Robotic Gynaecological Surgery at Wexham Park Hospital, pioneering advanced surgical tecniques in the field.
Mr Raafat serves as the Minimal Access Surgical lead for Gynaecology and he is the Clinical Governance Lead in his NHS role. He is also a senior member of the Gynae-Oncology Service in the Frimley Health Trust.
Currently Mr Raafat specialises in advanced endometriosis surgery and complex Gynaecological Cancer surgeries along with comprehensive management of both conditions. He also leads fully accredited Rapid Access Outpatient Hysteroscopy Clinics (including Myosure) and Colposcopy clinics, in addition to offering regular Antenatal Clinic Services at Wexham Park Hospital.
Mr Raafat also specialises in the management of menopause and peri-menopause and their associated complications, including evaluation and investigations into postmenopausal uterine bleeding. He also provides expert guidance on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) regimens.
With a focus on advanced surgical techniques, medical management and ongoing education in innovative procedures and products, Mr Raafat is committed to providing his private patients with the most comprehensive and effective treatment options available for their condition. Allowing them time at consultation to explore the most appropriate treatment strategies, empowering his patients to make an informed decision about their health.
