Mr Aakash Pai is a highly experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon providing expert care in both general and complex urology. Mr Pai graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2008, followed by foundation and core surgical training within the prestigious Oxford Deanery. He went on to complete his specialist urological training at high-volume centres across Surrey, Sussex, and South London, gaining extensive experience in both routine and complex urological procedures.

After completing his training, he was awarded the highly regarded British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) and World Congress of Endourology Fellowship, enabling him to refine advanced surgical techniques internationally.

In 2020, Mr Pai was appointed as a Consultant Urologist at Northampton General Hospital, where he serves as the lead for complex kidney stone disease, receiving tertiary referrals from across the region. He is also the department’s Clinical Governance Lead, with a strong focus on patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based medical care.

Mr Pai provides expert treatment for a broad spectrum of urological conditions, including:

  • Optilume urethral dilatation
  • MRI Fusion-guided prostate biopsies

He is particularly interested in minimally invasive and day-case urological surgery, having authored a book chapter on ambulatory urology, helping to improve patient recovery times and reduce hospital stays.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Pai is actively involved in urological research and innovation. He is a Principal Investigator on multiple randomised controlled trials and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals. His work is regularly presented at international conferences, contributing to advancements in urological care.

To complement his clinical expertise, he completed an Executive MBA with honours, reflecting his commitment to improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.

Mr Pai is a passionate educator and mentor. He has been nominated for the BAUS Silver Cystoscope Award, recognising excellence in surgical training. As a Royal College Surgical Tutor, he significantly enhanced surgical education within his institution.

He has taught anatomy at Oxford Medical School, contributes to the Cancer Care curriculum at Leicester Medical School, and supports the development of both medical students and junior doctors.
