About us

Runnymede Hospital is located near the historic town of Chertsey in Surrey and next door to Ashford and St Peter's NHS Hospital. It's a small hospital with a comforting, family feel, specialising in cardiology, gastroenterology, general surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedic surgery and urology.

People come to us from all over Surrey, including Esher, Addlestone, Weybridge, Cobham, Chobam, Byfleet and West Byfleet.

We offer clinical excellence in a peaceful environment.  Our experienced healthcare professionals are dedicated and compassionate, and it shows in our results. In our latest patient satisfaction survey, 98.4% of patients said they would be extremely likely or likely to recommend their consultant to their friends or family, and 97.2% of patients said their overall experience of our service was very good or good. Scores are from our satisfaction surveys. During the period of January to December 2025, we received 1206 completed Inpatient/Day Case surveys at Runnymede Hospital

Our Imaging department has recently been significantly refurbished and now houses a CT scanner, enabling Cardiology stress testing and detailed health assessments in addition to general x-ray, ultrasound and some interventional procedures.

The physiotherapy department offers post-operative treatment for patients. The department is staffed by HCPC and CSP registered physiotherapists who treat sports injuries and conditions such as sprains and whiplash. We also offer a rehabilitation service for patients who experience bone and muscle pain or have mobility constraints following hip or knee joint replacement surgery.

In addition, Runnymede Hospital offers access to an on-site pharmacy.

We also have a resident medical officer (RMO) who is available 24 hours a day to ensure that patients are safe and cared for at all times. Should your care needs change following surgery or treatment, we may need to transfer you to another hospital. This will either be to an NHS or another Circle hospital. Transfers of care only take place when absolutely necessary.

Please note: we are not authorised to see children or young people under 18 at the Runnymede Hospital.
