The Lancaster Hospital works closely with a number of highly experienced Cardiology Consultants in order to offer planned or rapid access to cardiology services for patients with suspected or known heart problems.
The close working relationship between the consultants and staff at The Lancaster Hospital ensures that patients with many aspects of heart disease can be seen and treated.
Conditions managed include:
- Angina and heart attacks
- Heart rhythm problems
- Valve disease
- Heart failure
- Heart disease risk factor management e.g cholesterol
- Hypertension
Symptoms of heart conditions may include:
- Chest pain
- Breathlessness
- Palpitations
- Dizzy spells and blackouts
- Tiredness or lethargy
Non-invasive procedures
We offer the following non-invasive procedures at the hospital:
- ECG (Electrocardiogram). We also offer ECG testing for a period of up to 7 days so a patient’s heart rhythm can be continuously monitored, if required.
- Cardiac stress testing
- Ambulatory blood pressure recording
- Echocardiogram
- Catheter ablation
Our consultants have clinics throughout the week. Once your heart condition has been diagnosed, patients will be referred to an appropriate consultant with a special interest and experience in that area.
