Our Imaging Department offers a comprehensive diagnostic service with HPC-registered radiographers and consultant radiologists. All staff are encouraged to participate in a continuing education programme to ensure that the department is up to date with developments in imaging and techniques.

Imaging tests are reported quickly by Consultant Radiologists; urgent results can be fast tracked by prior arrangement.

MRI Scan

There is a weekly visiting MRI service every Friday and alternate Saturdays.

X-Ray

We offer all general X-rays at request of your GP or consultant – these are digital X-rays that can be instantly viewed by your doctor.

Ultrasound

All general ultrasounds including gynaecological, hernias and gallbladder scanning.

Echocardiogram scan

We offer a echocardiogram scan, a painless test that uses sound waves to capture pictures of the inside of your heart.

The cost of having a scan at the Duchy Hospital will depend on a variety of factors, including what scans are required, how many scans are needed and the reason you are having the test.
