Gain a clearer understanding of your bone health with a detailed assessment of bone strength and fracture risk. Early identification of reduced bone density can help guide treatment, lifestyle changes, and preventative measures to support mobility, independence, and long-term health.
Your assessment provides a comprehensive evaluation of the factors that contribute to lifelong musculoskeletal health and includes:
● Radiation-free REMS assessment of bone density and bone quality
● Fragility fracture risk assessment
● Body composition analysis, including visceral fat and metabolic rate
● Grip strength assessment as an objective measure of muscle function
● Comprehensive review of medical history, lifestyle and individual risk factors
● Personalised recommendations covering exercise, nutrition, bone health optimisation and long-term prevention
● Written report with results and an individual management plan
Where appropriate, recommendations may include further investigations, medical treatment or referral to other specialists.
Many people lose bone strength gradually without experiencing any symptoms. Osteoporosis is often described as a “silent disease” because the first indication may be a fracture following a simple fall.
You may benefit from assessment if you:
● are peri-menopausal or post-menopausal
● have a family history of osteoporosis
Low body weight
Early menaupause
Smoking or higher alcohol intake
Low calcium and/or vitamin D
● have previously sustained a low-impact fracture or stress fracture
● have lost height or developed a stooped posture
● are taking medications that affect bone health, such as long-term steroids
● have inflammatory arthritis or other medical conditions associated with reduced bone density
● have been treated for breast or prostate cancer
● have concerns about muscle loss, balance or falls
● history of eating disorder
● wish to optimise your long-term health and remain active as you age.
Early identification of reduced bone strength allows intervention before fractures occur.
The Bonegevity Clinic offers a proactive approach to healthy ageing by helping patients understand their current musculoskeletal health and take evidence-based steps to protect it.
Potential benefits include:
● Earlier identification of osteoporosis and osteopenia
● Assessment of bone quality as well as bone density
● Radiation-free imaging suitable for repeat monitoring
● Personalised fracture prevention strategies
● Optimisation of muscle health and body composition
● Improved understanding of individual risk factors
● Consultant-led assessment by an experienced orthopaedic surgeon
● A personalised plan designed to help maintain strength, mobility and independence for years to come
More than half a million fragility fractures occur in the UK each year, with osteoporosis affecting millions of people. Early diagnosis and prevention can significantly reduce future fracture risk.
The Bonegevity Clinic is led by Ms Anna Moon, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Droitwich Spa Hospital.
With over 30 years’ clinical and surgical experience, Ms Moon has dedicated her career to restoring mobility and treating fractures. Her daily work has highlighted the devastating impact that osteoporosis and poor bone health can have on independence, quality of life and long-term wellbeing.
Recognising that many fractures are preventable through earlier identification and intervention, she established The Bonegevity Clinic to provide patients with access to advanced diagnostic technology combined with expert consultant assessment.
Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with practical, personalised advice, empowering patients to optimise bone health before problems develop.
Your appointment is designed to be thorough, informative, and fully personalised to you.
After registration, you will have a REMS bone scan alongside a body composition and sarcopenia assessment. These are painless, non-invasive tests that use no radiation and provide immediate results.
The first part of your visit is the scan, which takes around 30 minutes. This is followed by a consultation with Ms Anna Moon, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, which also lasts approximately 30 minutes.
During your consultation, Ms Moon will review your medical history, lifestyle, and risk factors in detail. She will then explain your scan results clearly and answer any questions you may have.
You will also undergo a sarcopenia (muscle strength and composition) assessment, allowing a more complete picture of your bone and muscle health.
Based on this information, you will receive personalised recommendations tailored to your needs. This may include guidance on exercise, nutrition, lifestyle changes, and, where appropriate, medical treatment or further investigations.
The aim of the Bonegevity Clinic is not only to assess bone health, but to help you strengthen bones, maintain muscle, reduce future fracture risk, and support long-term independence and wellbeing.
At the end of your appointment, you will receive a comprehensive written report by email, outlining your results and your personalised bone health and longevity plan.
