Ms Anna Moon is a highly experienced Consultant Hand Surgeon who has been based in the Worcestershire and Warwickshire region since 2005. Anna specialises in hand, wrist and elbow conditions. Having worked for the Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust as a Consultant for 11 years, she now works as an Independent Private Practitioner.

 

During her career, she trained extensively across Europe specialising in hand surgery and microsurgery and performed more than one hundred replantations (microsurgical reattachment of amputated hands and fingers). She wrote her PhD Thesis on microsurgical techniques in hand surgery. Ms Moon worked with plastic surgeons on complex hand injuries including microsurgery during her eighteen-month sabbatical at a hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She regularly attends training courses and conferences to keep up with the latest techniques in hand and wrist surgery and is an advocate of the use of the WALANT technique (Wide Awake Local Anaesthetic No Tourniquet).

 

Anna now offers a joint replacement for osteoarthritis at the base of the thumb, having undertaken her training in a cadaveric lab and real-life surgery in this technique in France.

Ms Moon has presented and run courses at many national and international forums and published articles in Orthopaedic journals. Anna is also a Visiting Senior Lecturer at Aston University.

Anna Moon works as an expert witness providing timely and efficient written reports for personal injury and medical negligence cases. She has a good understanding of legal principles and civil procedures rules and will provide a non-biased, holistic and logical approach, based on her extensive clinical experience and current medical evidence-based literature.

 

Anna is married to Nick Moon, a company director. They have fourteen-year-old twins, Sophie and Charlie and Rosie who is twelve years old. When not working, Anna enjoys walking, gardening, cooking and outdoor living such as cycling and skiing.
