We offer a range of private foot and ankle services to treat all common injuries and conditions. These include:

Bunion repair surgery starting from £4,756*

A bunion is a bony lump that can grow on the side of your foot. They can affect one or both of your feet. Bunions can make your large toe bend towards your other toes, causing pain, discomfort, swelling and tenderness, and making walking difficult. Some people also find the appearance of their bunions unsightly. These factors make living with bunions challenging.

Fortunately, private bunion surgery is a common and effective procedure that helps effectively treat and eliminate bunions.

During the procedure, your Orthopaedic Consultant will make a small incision in the skin over your big toe. They will then cut or scrape away your bunion and straighten your toe bone, before fixing it in place with metal screws or staples.

Forefoot surgery for one foot starting from £6,090*

Forefoot surgery helps treat a variety of forefoot problems that cause forefoot pain (metatarsalgia). Forefoot problems include toe deformities, hammer toe and bunions.

At St Edmunds hospital, forefoot surgery for both feet starts from £7,208.*

Toe amputation starting from £2,926*

  • You might need your toe amputated for several reasons. An amputation might be required if:
  • Your toe is severely infected
  • Your toe has been affected by gangrene (often as a result of peripheral arterial disease)
  • You have suffered a severe trauma to your toe
  • Your toe is severely deformed

During toe amputation surgery, your Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon will make an incision in the skin around your toe. They will then remove the necessary bone, ensuring there is enough skin preserved to close the wound. After the amputation, your wound will be closed with stitches or surgical staples. It will also be covered with a bandage.

*The prices shown above are an estimate and only apply for self-pay customers. The final cost of your knee treatment will always be confirmed in writing after your consultation. Further terms and conditions apply.
