St Edmunds Hospital has a team of experienced radiographers providing daily clinics and flexible appointment times for your convenience and peace of mind. We accept referrals from registered GP's and Consultants. Please note you are unable to self refer, you will need to visit your GP or a consultant for them to refer you.

If you have been to your GP and you need one of the below, you are able to ask them to be referred to St Edmunds where the wait times are minimal.

Our diagnostic imaging services include the following:

Echo

An Echocardiogram also referred to as an "echo", is a painless scan that looks inside your heart and its surrounding blood vessels. It can examine your heart's structure and check how it is working. We have a specialist Cardiac Physiologist who works on site who is able to perform the Echo test.

X-ray

An X-ray is an imaging technique used to look inside your body at your bones and soft tissues. It's a quick, painless procedure that's very safe. It is used for a wide variety of reasons and can help us to examine various different parts of your body.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound scanning is a technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create pictures of your internal organs, soft tissues, and blood vessels, allowing your consultant to see what is happening inside your body. It is usually a non-invasive procedure, meaning that the ultrasound probe stays outside your body, apart from some gynaecological scans. We can also perform pain relief injections guided by ultrasound into most joints.
