Mr Agrawal is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with experience in treating patients with hip and knee problems. His NHS practice is based at the Lower Limb Arthroplasty Unit at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. His practice includes hip and knee replacements and revision (redo) surgery for failed joint replacements, joint infections and periprosthetic fractures.
After his years at medical school, he completed his Basic Surgical Training in Leeds and Higher Surgical Training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Sheffield and affiliated hospitals.

He undertook an advanced fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham and an Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. The fellowships helped him gain further experience in managing complex trauma and complex problems of the hip and knee joints. He has also visited centres in India, Nepal, South Africa and the US which has helped him understand the different healthcare systems.

He worked as a Consultant in Orthopaedic Trauma & Lower Limb Arthroplasty at the Nottingham University Hospitals for 18 months before being appointed at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. He is also the Lead for Quality Improvement at the trust.

He has been actively involved in various research projects and has been awarded various academic prizes at regional and national levels. He has authored a textbook chapter and has published scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is a keen teacher and instructs on a number of national courses for medical students and trainee orthopaedic surgeons.
