About Mr Yasser Mohsen

Personal Profile

Mr Yasser Mohsen is a consultant surgeon at The Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals. For the last 15 years he has specialised in bowel surgery for cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. As lead clinician for colorectal surgery he chairs the multi-disciplinary team for GI cancer at The Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals.

Mr Mohsen is the surgical tutor/examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, and the senior lecturer at Imperial College Medical School. Mr Mohsen became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1991. He continued his training and development at several teaching hospitals in London, including; St Bartholomew's, The Royal London, Whipps Cross University and The Royal Free hospital in Hampstead.

Mr Yasser Mohsen in 1998 was awarded a master’s degree in general surgery, by the University of London, for his research work in cancer.His general interests include general surgery, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery for gastrointestinal and bowel conditions.

Mr Mohsen also provides an alternative to more radical abdominal surgery; Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEM), which offers a minimally invasive solution for the excision of certain rectal polyps and early stage rectal tumors. He established this treatment at The Hillingdon Hospital and became one of two elected surgeons for early bowel cancer in West London.    

Mr Mohsen offers minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci 5 Surgical System at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, the UK’s first private hospital to adopt this advanced robotic-assisted technology. Leveraging enhanced precision, 3D visualisation, and wristed instruments, he delivers improved surgical outcomes, shorter recovery times, and care across his specialties in general and colorectal surgery, including robotic colorectal cancer surgery, and is highly experienced in the robotic management of all types of hernias.
