Personal Profile

Ms. Yasmin Abbas is an experienced and highly qualified ENT Otology Consultant, specialising in ear disorders, hearing loss, and ear surgery. With a robust academic foundation, Ms. Abbas holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Material Engineering from the University of Nottingham and a medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Warwick. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) with a focus on Otolaryngology (ENT) and Head & Neck Surgery.

After her fellowship in ear implants, she took up her current consultant post at Wexham Park Hospital where she became the lead surgeon responsible for the otology service, clinical tutor overseeing the teaching of residents and medical students in all aspects of ENT.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Ms. Abbas is deeply involved in research and education. She is the Principal Investigator for the STARFISH NIHR UK-wide RCT on sudden sensorineural hearing loss at her NHS practice, and she has led various projects aimed at improving patient outcomes in otology. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at national and international conferences. Ms. Abbas is also a dedicated educator, having organised and led numerous training courses for junior doctors and ENT specialists.

Ms Abbas undertakes a full general ENT practice for adult and children at Wexham Park Hospital with an emphasis on ear and hearing conditions and their management.  She is passionate about providing patient-centred care, using innovative techniques such as endoscopic ear surgery and balloon eustachian tuboplasty, which enable faster recovery and more effective outcomes. Her clinic offers a comprehensive range of treatments, including bone conduction hearing implants, local anaesthetic grommet insertion in adults, and specialist paediatric otology services.

Ms Abbas can see and consult on children of all ages. Whilst most young children can be managed without surgery, when it is required, she undertakes this at The Princess Margaret Hospital for children aged 3 and above.
