Dr Tang qualified from Guy’s, King's and St Thomas’ Schools of Medicine in London with distinction in 2006. During her medical degree, she undertook an intercalated degree and was awarded a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology with Basic Medical Sciences. She trained in General Practice in London before moving to Berkshire in 2013 and subsequently taking up a GP Partnership in East Berkshire for a few years. She is experienced in managing all aspects of General Practice in children and adults. She has also worked as a Specialty Doctor in Dermatology for Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust for several years. She has a postgraduate diploma in clinical dermatology as well as further dermoscopy training from Cardiff University. In addition to this, she has diplomas in women's health and family planning from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. Aside from providing a holistic approach to your acute and chronic problems, she is a keen advocate of preventative medicine through health checks and advice. Dr Tang is also fluent in Cantonese.
In 2008, she undertook a two-year secondment to join a highly competitive Chief Medical Officer’s clinical leadership fellowship at the National Patient Safety Agency and World Health Organisation. During this time, she was involved in national and international quality improvement projects, health policy, patient safety and medical leadership. She has published articles in medical journals including the Lancet and contributed to national and international policy documents including the Report of the Chair of the National Working Group on Women in Medicine (UK) and Antimicrobial Resistance for World Health Organisation.
