Personal Profile

Dr Vijay began training in anaesthesia at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in 1989 and obtained Fellowship in anaesthesia in 1992. She developed a special interest in pain medicine and underwent further training to obtain the required expertise in managing patients with pains from spine, neuropathy, CRPS, pain in children, sickle cell disease and, cancer.

She was the main author of a review article on the role of anaesthetist in sickle cell crisis, which was published in BJA, garnered international interest. Dr Vijay joined Greenwich Hospital as Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine in 1998. She plays an active role in GP education and has undertaken numerous presentations.
