About Vanessa Behmer

Personal Profile

Vanessa is originally from Germany and moved to the UK in late 2015. After graduating in 2011 she worked in various orthopaedic and musculoskeletal settings specialising in rehabilitation after surgery, sports injuries and neuromuscular conditions.

After her move to England, she decided to leave her comfort zone and worked in a brain injury setting for 2 ½ years to see a wider spectrum of physiotherapy. This part of her career also allowed her to learn a lot about cognitive behavioural therapy and working hand in hand with other health care professionals to ensure excellent patient care.

Since the beginning of 2019 she returned to her core interest and passion for sports, orthopaedics and MSK.

Vanessa is an internationally qualified Lymph-Therapist, treating patients with Lymphedema after various forms of trauma or cancer illness. She has also undertaken training for rehabilitation and fatigue management of Cancer survivors.

In her spare time Vanessa enjoys all outdoor activities such as hiking, running, skateboarding and especially water sports/ paddle boarding. She is also very interested in mindfulness and believe that you can achieve anything if you're in the right mindset.
