Mr Collin is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Woodlands Hospital in Darlington. He sees self-pay and privately insured patients.

He has been a Consultant at the University Hospital of North Durham since April 2010 and regularly attends Darlington Memorial Hospital for clinics. He has been active in developing the breast reconstruction service for the Durham region since he started at the hospital, and is a core member of the skin cancer team.

He has a specialist interest in breast reconstruction and skin lesion management, which form a large part of his NHS workload. In both the NHS and privately, Mr Collin conducts a wide variety of surgical procedures. He believes that the basis of success in any surgical procedure is underpinned by thorough pre-operative assessment and discussion, to ensure that patients fully understand the implications of their choice. By doing this Mr Collin hopes that patients have realistic expectations and will gain maximum benefit from their procedure. He values honesty and integrity in this setting above all else. High patient satisfaction levels are the most rewarding aspect of his work and Mr Collin strives to achieve this in all cases.

Over many years of working in plastic and reconstructive surgery, Mr Collin has gained extensive and broad experience in all aspects of the specialty. He updates his practical surgical skills and knowledge by reflective practice and self-directed learning, as well as attending internal and external teaching sessions, courses and meetings.

He is registered on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.
