Mr Thomas Athisayaraj is a Consultant General Surgeon with special interest in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery, and holds a full time post as consultant surgeon at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds.
Mr. Athisayaraj has a strong surgical background having graduated and completed his basic surgical training with award of Diplomate of National board of examinations (DNB) in General Surgery from India. He moved to the UK in 2005 and has since then undergone extensive higher surgical training in various sub specialties. He has published various peer-reviewed papers and has presented his work in various international and national conferences.
Mr. Athisayaraj has also completed his specialist colorectal surgery training and he is on the specialist register as well as being an experienced JAG certified endoscopist and endoscopy trainer. Mr Athisayaraj performs colonoscopy, gastroscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
Mr. Athisayaraj enjoys travelling in his spare time with his family to pursue his passion for photography which he feels has helped him appreciate small things and to view them from a different perspective.
