Tejas-Yarashi-Professional-Profile

Mr. Yarashi is a Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder & Elbow Surgeon. He completed his specialist Trauma & Orthopaedic training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Rotation in London.

During his training, he worked in the Peripheral Nerve Injuries unit gaining great experience in nerve injuries and their management. He gained experience in complex surgeries on the Shoulder & Elbow while in the Shoulder and Elbow Unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London as well as Royal London Hospital at Level 1 Major Trauma centre.

After completing his training he undertook two prestigious Post CCT Fellowships in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery. One year was spent in Brisbane, Australia working with Professor Mark Ross and 4 other Upper Limb surgeons, improving his skill in Trauma and Elective Shoulder & Elbow Surgery. The second year was spent at the Liverpool Upper Limb Unit under the mentorship of Professor Peter Brownson (Ex-President of the British Elbow & Shoulder Society) and 4 excellent Shoulder & Elbow surgeons perfecting his skills in Elective Shoulder & Elbow Surgery.

He has also completed multiple Travelling Observerships in Canada (Calgary & London, Ontario) and France (Lyon). This gave him a great opportunity to learn from some of the world's leaders in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery and he was able to learn about advances in this field as well as the latest techniques.

He has a keen interest in research and keeps up to date with the latest literature on techniques and management of pathologies. He regularly attends courses to constantly improve his knowledge. He also attends simulated labs to practice techniques in Shoulder & Elbow surgery to enhance his operative experience. He is a member of the British Elbow & Shoulder Society.

Mr Yarashi currently holds an NHS Consultant post at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust.

He is passionate about innovation and teaching. He was one of the Top 100 doctors in the UK to be awarded a fellowship in the Clinical Entrepreneurship Programme run by NHS England when it first started. He has been involved in the development of medical educational videos for medical students viewed by more than 3 million people worldwide. He is currently the educational lead for the Trauma & Orthopaedics Undergraduate Education at Northampton General Hospital where he provides weekly teaching to medical students.

Outside his work life, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter. He enjoys Photography, Cricket, Formula 1, meditating and maintaining a healthy happy life.
