Mr Tanvir Khokhar has worked both in the NHS and private sector over many years gaining valuable experience in managing podiatry patients across both care services.
Mr Khokhar has over the years trained in diabetes, rheumatology, dermatology, orthopaedics, wound care and is specialised in treating foot and ankle patients with complex pathologies. He has helped to establish a shared care service with primary and secondary providers by setting up a care pathway for patients with diabetes with foot ulcers in Liverpool. He is currently in the NHS as a clinical lead working in an extended role as Advanced Practitioner in Musculo-skeletal foot and ankle clinics in The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals Trust. This involves a high level of clinical autonomy. His practice is both in the NHS and private is evidence based.
He continues to advance his skills as part of professional development and is trained in steroid injection therapy. As part of the NHS Trust wound care management group, he regularly audits and evaluates wound dressing products for the Trust wound formulary. He has a Masters module at Liverpool University and is trained in leadership and management.
Mr Khokhar has given numerous talks over the years to medics, AHPs, nurses, GPs and patient groups. He has, as part of primary and secondary podiatry services group written patients information leaflets on the Diabetic foot. He has also written patient information leaflets on insoles and footwear for the orthotic department.
