Dr Tami Kramer is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She provides assessment and treatment for a wide range of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions. She sees children and young people up to eighteen years of age. Dr Kramer works in the NHS at Westminster Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) where she leads a multidisciplinary clinical team. She has over 20 years experience helping children, young people and families.
Dr Kramer provides a holistic and comprehensive assessment and formulation, and with a detailed treatment plan. She is passionate about working together with the young person, family (e.g. parents) and other important key people (e.g. teachers), to help improve outcomes, using evidence based approaches. She works closely with colleagues from other disciplines such as psychologists, therapists, and paediatricians.
Dr Kramer is an enthusiastic teacher and trainer for undergraduate and postgraduate doctors and other mental health professionals. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College. She is committed to provision of high quality clinical services and is Directorate Lead for Quality Improvement in CAMHS at CNWL NHS Foundation Trust, across five London boroughs. She trained as a Quality Improvement Coach with the Boston based Institute for Healthcare Improvement. She was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2015.
Dr Kramer completed medical training in South Africa and trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry on the St Mary’s Training Scheme in London. She worked at Imperial College as a Lecturer and then as a Senior Clinical Research Fellow for 17 years. She has published a number of book chapters and over 60 papers in peer reviewed journals. Her research covers a wide range of areas including the development of an intervention for adolescent depression in primary care, impact of cyberbullying on adolescent mental health and transition from child mental health services to adult mental health services. She has presented her work at conferences nationally and internationally.
