Mr Sweed graduated from medical school at Alexandria University in Egypt in 2001. He completed his orthopaedic training at Alexandria University and moved to the UK in 2013. He obtained his FRCS Trauma and Orthpaedics in 2016 and has since completed specialist fellowship training in knee surgery at several prestigious institutions, including:
• The BOA Knee Osteotomy Fellowship at Northcumbria NHS Trust
• Sports Knee Fellowship at University Hospitals of Derby & Burton
• Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship at Royal Berkshire Hospital
• Knee Fellowship at University Hospital Birmingham
Mr Sweed is passionate about teaching and cofounded the Birmingham Knee School (BKS). BKS runs a yearly course for trainees and knee fellows aiming for the dissemination of cutting-edge knowledge and skills, promoting innovation and expertise in the field of knee surgery.
Mr Sweed is married and has 2 children. Interests outside of work include football, squash and photography.
